23rd EAAP Webinar: “Livestock Breeding for Improved Sustainability and Animal Welfare”
The 23rd EAAP Webinar titled Livestock Breeding for Improved Sustainability and Animal Welfare will be held on Tuesday, March 26th 2024, 15:00 – 17:00 Central European Time, and is organised in collaboration with Neogen®. Neogen provides an extensive range of agrigenomic services and solutions for food and animal safety. They work alongside breed associations, genetic evaluation providers, companion animal breed registries, academic researchers and directly with individual farmers and animal owners, offering affordable genotyping and sequencing solutions for various species.
The first presentation will be given by Gábor Mészáros from “BOKU University” (Austria) on Genomics of Diversity: The Present Status and Future Perspectives. Gregor Gorjanc from “The Roslin Institute” (UK) will give his talk Storing and Analysing Mega-Scale Genomic Datasets. The last speaker will be Wim Gorssen from “KU Leuven University” (Belgium) who will inform the audience on New Phenotypes to Breed for Resilience in Pigs.
